Research activities are linked to projects with public funding, international cooperation and with industry.

The main research activities in LMBM:

from 1995 – 2001 : Molecular Study of Pathogenecity in Candida albicans (Financed by Third Word Academy of Sciences TWAS under Ref, 95 - 088 RG/Bio/AF/AC

from 1997 – 1999  : Using DNA probes and PCR in diagnosis of infections diseases and study of the putative gene(s) involved in their patogenecity (Financed in 1997 by CNCPRST as a Research Network)

from 1998 – 2005  : Setting-up of the Moroccan Co-ordinated Collections of Micro-organisms (MCCM) in collaboration with the Belgian Co-ordinated Collections of Micro-organisms (BCCM). This project is Financed by UNESCO (Project: pp04-27222505), “Direction Generale de la Cooperation Interantionale ” DGCI from Belgium ( FRAB/1/98) and CNRST- Morocco(PROTARS II n°P2T3/28)

from 2003–2005: Isolation, Characterisation Identification and molecular typing of Lactic Acid Bacteria from raw milk and Moroccan soft white cheese. This project is granted by CNRST- Morocco, UNESCO and BCCM/LMG – University of Gent Belgium .

from 2003–2005  : Valorisation of scientific research results, Proposal entitled “ Transfert du savoir-faire en matiere de valorisation de la recherche en biotechnologie et identification de projets valorisables  “ This Proposal is granted by « Communaute francaise de Wallonie-Bruxelles » ref. Axe4-Projet4

from 2004 – 2006  : Development of a system for appropriate management of access and transfer of microbial ressources – Micro-organisms Sustainable use and Access regulation integated Conveyance system – MOSAICS, programme “ Food quality and safety ” Proposal granted by European Commission Under N° 506436.

from  2006 – 2008 : Recherche et caractérisation de nouvelles interactions bénéfiques entre des bactéries rhizophérique et la plante légumineuse modèle Medicago truncatula.Projet financé parla coopération française dans le cadre du Programme de Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement-PRAD et le CNRST Maroc.

from 2006 - 2008  : Renforcement des capacités institutionnelles du réseau des Collections Coordonnées Marocaines de Microorganismes-CCMM par la valorisation des microorganisme à potentiel biotechnologique, Projet financé par la coopération Belge dans le cadre du Fonds de Recherche Appliquée Belge-FRAB et CNRST Maroc.
