Safe deposit
Strains deposited this way will not be visible in the catalogue and will be only accessible for the depositor or third parties provided they have the written authorization of the depositor.
Strains can be stored either at -80°C or freeze-dried (or both) for an undefined period, naturally, the
depositor can opt out or switch to a different type of deposit at the end of each year of storage Safe deposit is particularly useful for cases such as:
- The strains are of proven potential, but the process for patent deposit is not yet started.
- Strains are still studied, but they need to be stored off-site (while the lab is relocated for example).
